Software Build and Test Manager at Well.ca!

We're looking for a Software Build and Test Manager to help us build, test, and launch releases for the biggest online health store in Canada. The position is in a small agile software development team so you've got to be someone that enjoys the responsibility and freedom to build stuff-- from thinking up new ideas to writing the actual code.

The ideal candidate is someone that is extremely organized and detail-oriented, can work on a team, and is extremely comfortable with source code revisioning tools like SVN or Git, is very comfortable using UNIX or Linux through the command shell, understands code, and likes testing, launching, and building new software.

Simple test to know you'd be good for this job: you're the kind of person who will script anything you do more than once!
 

Responsibilities:

  • Use SVN, Unix and other tools to branch and integrate new revisions of our software to test, build, and live servers
  • Develop and organized build framework to ensure that new software is released often
  • Develop a test framework to ensure that new releases are error free
  • Work alongside our CEO to cook french-toast for breakfast meetings

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Unix / Linux
  • Knowledge of source code revisioning tools: SVN and GIT
  • Experience building software, preferably on a Web team
  • Familiarity with scripting languages for the purpose of software building
  • Detail oriented nature and good organization skills
  • Experience with most or all of the following tools:
        - capistrano / vlad the deployer (deployment automation tools)
        - monit / god / cactii (server monitoring tools)
        - automated build tools such as CruiseControl or Buildbot
        - the testing framework Selenium

Bonus Points:

  • Familiarity with PHP, MySQL, Java, Ruby
